Who is Karen

Karen is a tour guide and a local of the Northern Beaches of NSW.
With a great love of the area Karen has created a number of guided walks to share various aspects of Manly and northern beaches history. Karen can also be your private guide to help you explore Sydney; this will give you a truly Aussie experience.

The Tours
There are day tours $14, night tours $16 which range from 60 minutes to two hours and Karen also offers herself as a personal guide, education tours and extreme tours . The Manly walks are easy pace, mostly level ground, the scenery is breathtaking and the stories you will hear along the way are fascinating. You will hear about the original custodians of the land, why the British sent convicts to NSW, why is Manly designed to be like “Brighton” in England, Who was the fellow who walked over water? Ghostly sightings and much much more.

How to get to Manly

Manly is easy to get to from Sydney its only a 30 min Ferry ride from Circular Quay and it is a great way to see the harbor. Or you can arrive by bus just check out www.131500.com.au

How do you pay for the tours

You can pay cash on arrival or purchase tickets at the Manly Visitor Centre that is located in front of the Manly Wharf. After your tour stay and enjoy all the delights that Manly has to offer. Death, blood shed, crime, sword fights & shoot outs at Manly. Whilst winding your way through the not so straight and narrow you will be taken to some of the most elegant, sophisticated and chic lounge bars. During the walk it will be peppered with stories of crime and the six o’clock swill finishing up at a very cool establishment inspired by the speakeasy’s of the 1920’s.

The duration of a day tour is between 60 to 90 minutes and is a very pleasant leisurely stroll in and through Manly.

Extreme Tours

1. Costume Character Tour: Any of the tours on offer can be modified to have a live theatre component. Which means a costume character appears during the tour to surprise the participants. The character gets involved with the group and it is wonderful photo opportunity. These tours are best suited for groups because the minimum number is 15 participants. These types of tour are particularly good for birthday parties and team building events.

2. Outdoor Challenge: If you have a group of 15 or more and would like an outdoor event that involves mental and physical stimulation this is for you. The event will have a theme, for example it could be “pirates” therefore that sets the dress code for the event. Then the group is given a set of tasks to commplete with a time limit. This event is great for team building and bonding and a lot of fun.

Manly’s Ghost Tour

By day Manly is bright and bubbly and the sound of the surf soothes the unsuspecting in to a false sense of security. But by night this same surf side village has a spooky and kooky side to it, strange things have happen of which there is no explanation. Is it the supernatural? Do lost souls cry out from the deep?

You will hear about mystery bones found in backyard, untimely deaths of an unusual nature, a pirate that haunted a local house & some history of the area and the cemetery. So come for a walk on Friday nights with Karen to find out more!
